Post Jam Update #1


It's time for the first post-jam update!

Getting so much detailed feedback from a project I banged out over a weekend was incredible, and I'm so grateful to everyone who took the time to play it and comment. After working on it for a little over a month now, I've decided to move the game into active development- so you can expect regular updates going forward. This is just the beginning of Pinto's adventure!

This update is focused mainly on the "bones" of the game- UI and data management. In the coming months you can expect new level elements, different aesthetics, and maybe even some rewards for your hard earned stars. Keep an eye out!

Major Changes/Features

  • Saving to Browser Storage - Your stars and progress will be saved between sessions and updates, so if you want to come back when more levels are added you won't need to play the whole game again
  • Menus and Level Select - Choose what level you want to play, and go back to collect the stars you missed!
  • Inverted Controls - When moving on the ceiling, you'll find that your left and right keys are inverted (relative to Pinto's perspective, at least). This is experimental, so it may get tweaked or at the very least turned into a toggled setting. Let me know what you think!
  • New and Redesigned Levels - I've removed and replaced levels involving chains. The physics weren't working the way I wanted them to, but they may return in the future.
  • Time Stop Drawing - The physics simulation pauses when you're drawing, giving you time to think about your next move.

Bugfixes

  • Music should loop now
  • Fixed buttons behaving inconsistently when multiple of the same color were present
  • Various other fixes
